Does Sony Have A PlayStation Showcase Coming Next Month?

It has been almost an entire year since Sony last graced us with a PlayStation Showcase, you know, where Sony puts on a big showing for some of its biggest first-party projects alongside 3rd party announcements. Last year's event brought is the reveals of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel's Wolverine, and a new trailer for God of War Ragnarok. However, since then, we haven't seen much in the way of PlayStation Studios content — granted Sony had a surprisingly tremendous "State of Play" during what would have been E3, but that was all about third-party developers. Of course, Final Fantasy XVI is shaping up to be pretty spectacular. And the first half of 2022 has been solid. Gran Turismo 7, MLB The Show 22, Horizon: Forbidden West are not small releases.

As September closes in. Will Sony repeat what they've done for 2 years in a row and have a Showcase sometime during the month. Do you suspect Sony will host a PlayStation Showcase next month?

It certainly appears to have the content to put a major show on, but whether Sony actually follows through with one is an entirely different story. Outside of the aforementioned titles, all we have confirmed out of PlayStation Studios is a multiplayer take on The Last of Us Part II, and projects coming from external/2nd party partners — some of which it has recently acquired *cough* Haven Studios *cough*. Besides these projects, we know very little else. Team Asobi, Firesprite Games, Pixel Opus, Sucker Punch, Blue Point Games...what are they all working on? What will be Nexus' first port job to PC? Could it be Bloodborne?

There's a pretty hefty list of 1st and 2nd party developers PlayStation could give the spotlight to for reveals and new game announcements, but the question remains to be answered.
