Enslaved By Child of Eden

Hey all! Justin back again with another update. A lot has happened since my last post. I have played through Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, E3 has come and gone, and I have picked up two new games, inFamous 2 and Child of Eden, which I technically havent bought Child of Eden I'm just borrowing it. But here goes.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is one of the greatest story centered games I have played this generation that also has a great combat system to it. It does take some getting used to because you cant just go all out like in Dynasty Warriors. You have to be both offensive and defensive and aware of the enemies surrounding you as well. The story is set in an apocalyptic future with mankind on the brink of destruction by a society of robots controlled by Pyramid. You play as Monkey and have to escort a girl, Trip, back to her home. Many may think that its a gigantic escort quest but I hardly had to keep track of Trip when I was playing. The story is based off of the tale of the Journey to the West, an old Buddhist tale of a journey of enlightenment. Ironically enough the manga and show Dragonball are loosely based off this as well. The character development is fantastic along with the story.

E3 was ok this year. I wasnt impressed with too much except for the PSVita and the beginning of Nintendos conference with their musical montage to the Legend of Zelda, which by the way, this year is the 25 year anniversary to the series so be sure to pay your respects. The musical montage was my favorite part of the week. They played songs and tidbits from the series and made some awesome announcements for the series this year in celebration.

Sony's was good. I was really disappointed that Kevin Butler didnt make an appearance this year. Having him open up the conferencce would have been the best thing that Sony could have done but instead they went with the CEO who only cares about your wallets... yeah. The PSVita looks really awesome. I told myself that I wasnt going to get one but I am more than likely going to rbeak down and reserve the Wifi version. The 3G version is going to be a waste of money mainly because its on ATT and not Verizon which really surprised a lot of people seeing as how the Xperia play a.k.a. the Playstation Phone is on Verizon. They also finally dated the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus collection for September.

Other than that not much stuck out to me during the conference. All the games that I'm looking forward to, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Tales of Graces F and White Knight Chronicles II are more than likely going to be held back for Tokyo Game Show.

At the moment I am playing through Child of Eden as well. I just started playing it and am only through the second level but I must say that the game is the most visually astounding things that I have ever seen. The destruction of the viruses in the game and even the button presses match up to the music of the game and enhance the experience of everything. Tetsuya Mizuguchi is a visual and musical genius. I also started playing Rez as well so I could get more updated on the spiritual prequel to Child of Eden.

Thats all that I have for now. next time I post I will hopefully have beaten Child of Eden and at least one of the Star Oceans. Later for now.
