As gamers we're set to have one of those monstrous years that happen very occasionally throughout our hobby called gaming and here are my Top 5 Most Anticipated games of 2015.
5) Final Fantasy Type 0 HD
This game was on my radar already when it was originally Final Fantasy Agito XIII and was releasing for the PSP. As time went on and FFXIII greatly damaged the Final Fantasy name, Square Enix rebranded Agito XIII into Type 0 and also decided not to bring it out of Japan.
Then an HD port for the Vita was announced and hopes were renewed of a western release...still didn't happen...but FINALLY after several years of nothing, we're seeing Type 0 release on the PS4 and Xbox One in March.
What actually places this in my Top 5 however...its the Final Fantasy XV demo.
4) The Order: 1886
Ready at Dawn proved they were very capable of making fantastic games with the stuff they did on PSP with Daxter, God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta and even made the Wii port of Okami.
The Order is easily set to be this studio's, former members of Naughty Dog male up this team by the way, biggest project to date. An exclusive PS4 squad/co-op action, adventure, horror (?) game. The renaissance and steam punk style aesthetic is another huge plus in my book.
3) Xenoblade Chronicles X
No this is not a typo. I'm actually very excited for the X, for starters it's a first party JRPG and appears to be taking cues from western RPGs with a grand open world. Wanting to see more, unfortunately it will not get me to buy a Wii U, but I know of some people who do own one and I'll happily buy the game and play over there.
2) Uncharted 4
Now I've been stewing on this for a few weeks now. On Just 1 More Topic I did say this was my most anticipated game of the upcoming year...until a certain demo (see above) was unveiled.
Now the adventures of Nathan Drake continue in this sequel to a game that I had mixed emotions for (Uncharted 3 had such a weak fucking boss and the ending was sappy just to be sappy) but UC4 seems poised for a stellar return to form. Wondering about Nathan's brother, who is voiced by Troy Baker (Nolan North and Troy Baker. The 2 most prolific video game voice actors ever) will be so much fun to play through.
Uncharted 4 could still be my favorite game of 2015 and by default could return to the top spot of my most anticipated, because...
1) Final Fantasy XV
This game has every chance to still get delayed outside of 2015. We still don't have a firm release date for the game, but what shocked every Final Fantasy die hard, the FFXV demo announced with the final released product of Type 0 which comes out in about a month and a half.
For anyone who knows me, Final Fantasy has become such a damaged franchise in my book. With the god awful XIII series, which never should have been a fucking series, look at it, Square Enix rebranded the 2 other XIII titles to get away from that stigma of disaster, they still made 2 other games to make up for the rebranding. But they apparently wanted to give Versus and Agito an actual fighting chance to be liked. And I'm all for it. However, if they didn't make XIII 2 and XIII 3 and instead just focused on Agito and Versus, like the fans wanted...there wouldn't be as much damage to fix.
XV has had my attention since it was announced. A game being made by the core team that made VIII and X with the leadership that made Kingdom Hearts...match made in a diamond encrusted heaven! The game looks amazing in motion, it blends the CTB (Conditional Time Battle system) from FFX and the action oriented system of Kingdom Hearts for a wonderfully epic experience.
I'm just hoping it can somewhat deliver a fraction of what the expectations are going to be for this game.
Anyhow, that a quick run down of my most anticipated games, let me and the team here know what yours are in the comments down below or on the linked article over on Facebook.
